St. LOUIS -- The Missouri Valley Conference has finalized its 2018-19 women's basketball schedule, the league office announced Tuesday (Sept. 4), completing Missouri State's slate for the upcoming season.

The Lady Bears will play 12 games against 10 teams that participated in a postseason tournament in 2017-18, including four contests during the league season and eight as part of a difficult non-conference schedule.

Missouri State opens league play with a three-game homestand, hosting Indiana State (Jan. 4), Evansville (Jan. 6) and Southern Illinois (Jan. 13), and adds Loyola (Jan. 25) and Valparaiso (Jan. 27) to cap a busy January schedule at JQH Arena. The balance of the home schedule includes Illinois State (Feb. 15), Bradley (Feb. 17), UNI (March 1) and Drake (March 3).

The Lady Bears begin the road portion of the MVC schedule Jan. 18 and 20 at Bradley and Illinois State, and has additional road dates at Drake (Feb. 1), UNI (Feb. 3), SIU (Feb. 10), Valpo (Feb. 22), Loyola (Feb. 24), Evansville (March 7) and Indiana State (March 9)

The MVC Tournament will be held March 14-17 at TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Ill.

The Lady Bears begin the season Nov. 10 at Wichita State, with trips to Missouri (Nov. 14), Santa Clara (Nov. 24), North Texas (Dec. 1) and Indiana (Dec. 9) also on tap. MSU also plays Louisiana Tech and SIU Edwardsville in Kansas City on Dec. 20 and 21.

MSU plays four non-conference home games, all against 2018 postseason clubs, with Ball State (Nov. 17), South Dakota (Dec. 4), Gonzaga (Dec. 16) and Little Rock (Dec. 30) visiting Springfield.

The Lady Bears return nine players from last season's team that went 21-12 overall, finished second in the MVC at 15-3, and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. Missouri State's incoming freshman class for 2018-19 includes Mya Bhinhar (5-9, G, Owasso, Okla., Owasso High), Jasmine Franklin (6-1, F, Fayetteville, Ark., Fayetteville High), Dariauna Lewis (6-0, F, Omaha, Neb., North High), Sydney Manning (5-9, G, Edmond, Okla., Cashion High), and Sydney Wilson (5-11, G, Overland Park, Kan., Olathe East High).
