SPRINGFIELD – The undefeated Missouri State men's soccer team (3-0-2) gets set to take on UMKC for the second time this season, at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium Saturday Sept., 15 at 7 p.m.

Know the Bears

• The Bears have started the 2018 season on an offensive high note. Recording 10 goals in the first five matches. In 2017, Missouri State managed only 15 goals in 17 matches. The Bears pace the MVC in goals per-game average.
• Sophomore Josh Dolling recorded all three goals for the Bears against Santa Clara (Sept. 10), including the game winner at the 107-minuite mark, finishing off the first hat trick game for a MSU men's soccer athlete since Sept. 9, 2005.
• Dolling's second goal of the night earned the No. 3 play on Sports Center's Top-10 Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018.
• Dolling ranks fourth nationally with six goals scored this season, third in game-winning-goals and fifth in goals per-game.
• The Bears defense stays strong, allowing only five goals off of 52 shot attempts. A .096 shot percentage. The squad ranks second in the MVC in goals against average (1.00).
• Michael Creek, in his first season in goal has put up 17 saves, and helped force the key penalty kick miss in overtime against Santa Clara.
• The Bears went 1-0-1 last week, drawing with Mercer 1-1 (2OT), before taking down Santa Clara 3-2 in dramatic double overtime fashion.
• In the United Soccer Coaches West region, Missouri State sits ranked seventh.
• Missouri State will celebrate its 700th program match on Sept. 22 when they take on Valparaiso at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.

The Opponents
UMKC

• The Roos of a record of 1-4 in the early 2018 season with their lone win coming against Oral Roberts (8/31). 
• UMKC finished 5-10-3 (.361) a season ago, finishing in ninth place in the WAC with a 3-7 record in conference.
• Tim Staerz has set the pace for the Roos offensively. Attempting seven shots, one goal and one assist on the year.

Series History
UMKC
The Bears command a 20-4-2 all-time series lead over the Roos dating back to 1987. The last meeting between the two teams took place earlier this season on Aug. 24, 2018, where the Bears took the 3-1 victory in Kansas City.
