MVC Release
ST. LOUIS – After a career performance against Tulsa over the weekend, sophomore forward
Jordan Eickelman was tabbed the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Eickelman notched two goals included the game winner in overtime at Tulsa Sunday afternoon, solidifying a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory for the Bears.
Trailing 2-0 headed into the second half, Eickelman put Missouri State on the board in the opening minutes with a 10-yard shot into the lower left corner. Her final blow came in overtime with an 18-yard rocket into the middle of the net to seal the victory.Â
The two goals were a career high for Eickelman, and she helped the Bears stay a perfect 2-0 on the week.
She was also one of eight players to record a shot in a 1-0 shutout over Western Illinois in Missouri State's season opener.
This is Eickelman's first MVC Player of the Week selection.
The Bears (2-0) continue their road trek with a stop at Southeast Missouri State (0-1) on Tuesday, Aug. 21 starting at 6:30 p.m.
