SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State has added Cory Romine to its beach volleyball coaching staff, head coach Terri Del Conte announced Thursday.

"Cory is a huge addition to our program," said Del Conte. "He comes from a high level playing and coaching background. With his knowledge and presence, we have the potential to reach new levels at a faster pace."

Romine brings more than a decade of playing and coaching experience in both the indoor and beach games to MSU after spending the last seven years in southern California.

Romine's resume includes stints as an assistant coach at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, varsity head coach at Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana, boys volleyball assistant at Beckman High School in Irvine, and most recently training and coaching the Ecuadorian Junior National Beach Team, traveling with the club to tournaments in Bolivia and Chile. Additionally, Romine has trained Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) women's players and numerous junior beach players in California.

Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., Romine was a four-time All-American and national champion distance runner at Paradise Valley College in his hometown. After completing his running career, he transitioned to beach volleyball, earning his AAA rating and playing one year with USA Volleyball's U26 Beach National Training Team.
