TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Fighting another warm day at the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship, the Missouri State track and field team earns eight top-eight placings during day two of the meet, held at the Gibson Track & Field Complex.

The Bears scored 14 points in the long jump this afternoon, taking four of the top-eight spots. Sidne' Williamson led the way with a third place 5.81-meter leap, earning All-MVC honors. Williamson took the tie break over teammate Jamilah James, who also recorded a 5.81-meter leap. Isa Videler (5.70m) and Daijha Heron (5.66m) came in seventh and eight respectively.

Finishing up the Heptathlon, Olivia Ott and Chelsey Linton both placed for the Bears. Ott, rewrote her personal best point total 4,998, en route to All-Conference honors and a third place finish. Linton also tallied a new PR in points with 4,935, finishing in fifth. Â Â Â

Grace Breiten and Jordyn Capra placed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Breiten set a new personal best with a 10:53.56 fourth place finish, while Capra also broke her PR with a seventh place 10:56.90 time.

In prelim track action, six Bears qualified for the finals held on Sunday. Asha Cave (11.75) and Taryn Smiley (11.95) qualify in the 100-meter dash, Divina Henry (55.73) in the 400m, Paityn Howat with a personal best in the 800m run (2:14.20), a new PR 100-meter hurdles for Chicago Bains (14.11) and Videler in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.99).

Missouri State sits in fourth place with 51 team points after day two. MSU will start the final day of the MVC Championship with the triple jump at 10:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.
