The Brookhaven Country Club provided no shortage of challenges for the women's golf Bears on the first day of the Spring Break Invitational hosted by Missouri Valley foe, Bradley University. Missouri State sits in 10th place in the 16-team field, 25 strokes behind co-leaders, Cincinnati and Houston Baptist. Sharing a piece of the lead, Cincinnati and Houston Baptist each fired 611 over the first two rounds and narrowly edged out Akron who sits in third with 612. Rounding out the top 10 are Northern Illinois (621), Illinois State (622), UNC-Asheville (625), Wichita State and South Dakota are tied shooting 627 apiece, Texas A&M- Corpus Christi (629), and Missouri State (636).

Pacing the Bears, junior
Ashley Childers is currently tied for 16th after shooting 80-75--155. Improving on her round one score by 5 in round two, only one bogey and double bogey helped Childers go two-over par in round two. Close behind,
Verena Gimmy shot two birdies on the back 9 in round two, going three-over par to fire off 80-76--156. Tied at 37th
Rachel Johnson shot double rounds of 79 for 158.
Ryan Pate came up with rounds of 81-92--173 to place 84th. Senior
Stine Pettersen started round one at two-over par 75 but withdrew in round two. Competing as an individual,
Niamh Lendrum shot 90-79--169 and sits in 76th.
