Missouri State men's golf came out swinging at the Loyola Intercollegiate, with three Bears each shooting 69 in the opening round.

Kory Franks, and
Brad Carpenter all went into the afternoon's second round sitting tied for 21st. Junior
Kory Franks leads the team after shooting 69-70--139 in round two. His four birdies in each of the two rounds contributed to his 3-under par and 2-under par rounds respectively. This feat was matched by teammate
Adam Fisher with both men getting birdies on holes 2, 4, and 5 to start the day. Carpenter took the course by storm on the front end of round two, opening with a birdie and just three holes later eagled the par-5 fifth hole. In his first tournament of the year, Senior
Brian Rogers shot par in round one for 72-78--150 overall in rounds one and two.
John Fuchs shot 76-73--149 with two birdies on the back nine during round two.

Due to darkness, the second round of play was called short before all teams finished the course. The Bears got all five golfers through round 2 before sunset putting up scores of 279-289--568. College of Charleston holds the lead after two with a total of 546. Gonzaga (554) sits in second with Connecticut and Hartford tied with 555 apiece and Air Force (556) holding at fifth. Xavier, UT-Martin, Drake, and Army West Point all have a golfer that was unable to finish due to lack of daylight.
