SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State track and field team will enter their fifth meet of the 2017-18 indoor season at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, hosted by the University Of Nebraska, on Friday, February 2 through Saturday, February 3. The two day meet will kick off with long jump and the prelims of the 60m hurdles at 6 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will start their Saturday with the 200m dash at 11:30 a.m., while field events start at 2 p.m. with pole vault.Â

Keeping Track of the Bears
- For the fourth straight year the Bears will be competing at the Frank Sevigne Husker invitational. Last time in Lincoln, junior sprinter Taryn Smiley marked a new personal best in the 200-meter dash clocking a 25.62 time.
- Brittany McPike broke the Missouri State school record in weight throw at the Pittsburg State Invitational by throwing an 18.10-meter mark. McPike's attempt was a new personal best, good enough for her third first place finish this year and sits as the sixth longest in the Missouri Valley Conference this season.
- Jamilah James earned her third top place finish this season in the triple jump. James reached a distance of 12.10m last weekend. Daijha Heron also recorded a second place finish in the triple jump (12.07m).
- Asha Cave produced a victory in the 60-meter dash as she finished the finals in 7.55 seconds. Cave also ran the 200m dash in 24.64 seconds, earning second place.
- In the unseeded mile the Bears took home three of the top five spots let by Erica Wollmenring who came in first with a 5:08.45 time, while Paityn Howat completed the seeded mile in 5:04.83 to receive fourth place.
- The Bears have competed in four events so far this season racking up 11 individual first place finishes.
- At the Pittsburg State Invitational last weekend the Bears logged 14 top five placings and four first place finishes.Â
- The Bears will send 19 student-athletes to Bob Devaney Sports Center.
- Director of track and field and cross country, Ronald Boyce, is in his 22nd season at the helm. MSU enters this season picked fifth the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll.
