Women’s Soccer Returns Home for Indiana State Matchup

SPRINGFIELD – After wrapping up a six-game road streak, the Missouri State women's soccer team (7-6, 1-1 MVC) will return home to Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium to face Indiana State on Saturday, Oct. 6 starting at 2 p.m.

Missouri State Quick Kicks
  • Kennady Orlick and Kaitlin Maxwell picked up MVC weekly honors for their efforts in the 1-0 victory over Northern Iowa. Orlick earned newcomer of the week for knocking in the game-winning goal, her fourth of the season. Maxwell garnered a defensive player of the week nod for hitting a double-digit save count for the third time in her sophomore campaign.
  • Orlick ranks first in the MVC and sixth nationally in go-ahead scoring.
  • Maxwell is among the best in the country in saves, ranking fourth nationally with 83 on the season, including 10 against Northern Iowa.
  • Missouri State has had four MVC weekly honors – Orlick, Maxwell, Anna Durnin, and Jordan Eickelman.
  • The Bears have shut-out their opponent five times this season.
  • Jacqueline Baetz sits in a five-way tie for third for assists in the conference standings.
  • Four different players – Eickelman, Orlick, Skornia, and Olina Einarsdottir – have scored multiple goals this year.
  • The Bears are split in overtime contests this season, winning 3-2 at Tulsa Aug. 19, and falling to Oral Roberts, 3-2, Sept. 16.
Scouting Indiana State
  • Katie Wells leads the Sycamores in multiple offensive categories including goals (7), assists (6), and shots (23). She is second best in Indiana State history with 56 career points scored, and her 19 career goals tie her for third all-time.
  • The Sycamores went undefeated in four consecutive road contests earlier this season for the first time in program history. Indiana State's road programs are the most for the team since 2012.
  • Indiana State has yet to win a conference game this season, falling to both Evansville and Loyola.

  • The Bears have won their last four meetings against Indiana State.
