Final Results

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Missouri State track and field team logged four top five placings at the Arkansas Invitational here on Friday.

"Our big winner today was Brittany McPike," MSU head coach Ron Boyce said. "She got a personal best in the weight throw, which is great for her."

McPike hit a new personal record in the weight throw, tossing a 17.24-meter mark. McPike's throw ranks eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference and sits in the top-10 in MSU program history. She also recorded a sixth place finish in the shot put (12.12m)

"Our trio of long jumpers did great," Boyce said. "The milers were pretty good. Thinking back to their races, they did a good job."

The Bears placed three in the top five in the long jump competition. Jamilah James claimed third place with a 5.58-meter jump followed by Sidne' Williamson (5.50m) in forth, while Daijha Heron came in fifth (5.48m).

MSU entered seven runners in the mile race, led by Paityn Howat (5:08.40), Madeline Saville (5:10.78) and Jessica Allen (5:12.44), who all finished in the top 20.

"We will come home and get some work done and look forward to our next competition," Boyce said.

Missouri State will continue the indoor season next weekend at the Gladstein Invitational (Jan. 19-20) in Bloomington, Ind.
