Birmingham, Ala. – The Missouri State men's soccer team registered a shutout draw with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The Bears and the Blazers went to double overtime to decide the match, but neither team could record a goal.
Momentum bounced back and forth between the two teams throughout the game. MSU took control at the start of each half, but could not gain full advantage.
The Bears recorded nine shots during the 110 minute contest with five of them aimed at goal.
Harry Lewis and
Conor Ingram both marked two shots on goal while
Connor Langan had one. The five attempts at goal marked a season high for the Bears.
UAB got off 19 shots with six aimed at goal. Goal keeper
Liam Priestley once again made some timely saves to earn the shutout. Priestley made three of his six saves in the final nine minutes of regulation to keep the Bears in the game and to force overtime.
The Bears defense protected their goal from 11 corner kicks from UAB. Five of those coming in the first half.

The Bears will return home on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. against Memphis. The game will be played on Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium.
