ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri State junior
Conor Ingram continued his hot streak last week, and was rewarded as the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. Ingram is the first Missouri State men's soccer athlete to earn MVC Player of the Week honors in consecutive weeks, since 2009.
The Oxford, England native scored another pair of goals during the week. Ingram netted the game-winning goal off a shot deflection in the 70th minute of MSU's 1-0 win over UMKC on Sept. 19. He came through in the clutch by punching in the game-winning goal at the 52:24 mark against Evansville on Saturday to help the Bears secure their second Missouri Valley Conference win. The goal came from 10 yards out and marked Ingram's fifth of the season.
Ingram has scored in each of the last five games, leading the Bears to a four-game winning streak. He is also the first Bear in the last 17 years to score in five straight games. Ingram co-leads the conference in game-winning goals with three, all in the last three games.
The Bears return to action Saturday night against Valparaiso at 7 p.m. at home. The Bears will put the seventh longest win streak in the NCAA, siting at four-straight. For all of the latest information on the Missouri State men's soccer team, visit
