Bears Men’s Soccer Returns Home for MVC Action

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Missouri State men's soccer team kicks off home Missouri Valley Conference action, Saturday at 6 p.m. against Evansville.

Know the Bears
  • The Bears 'bend, but don't break' defense has given up 82 shots through seven games, but only given four goals. MSU's goals allowed average is the lowest in the Missouri Valley Conference (0.57).
  • Senior goalkeeper Liam Priestley has held up four shutouts this season and 18 in his career. Priestley has recorded 27 saves this year to help keep the Bears in matches.
  • Senior Conor Ingram was named MVC Offensive Player of the Week after netting two goals in two matches. The Oxford, England native leads the Bears with 10 shots on goal, 14 total shots and four goals this season. Ingram has marked a goal in each of the last four games.
  • Junior Harry Lewis has recorded 10 shots in seven games and scored two goals. Lewis has recorded two game winning goals. One against Tulsa and the other verses Central Arkansas.
  • The Bears broke an eight game losing streak against Tulsa in the season's home opener. The streak dated back to 2004. The 2-0 victory marked the first shutout victory against Tulsa since 2002.
  • MSU was picked to finish third in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. The Bears picked up one first place vote and 34 points in the poll.
