ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Conor Ingram after a top notch performance last week, has earned the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the Missouri State men's soccer team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Oxford, England native netted two goals during a career week. The first came at the 56 minute mark in the opening MVC match against Central Arkansas. Ingram scored off a shot deflection to tie the ball game. With four minutes left in double overtime, Ingram lined up for a penalty kick. Even though shot failed to find its home, it set up the game winning goal by teammate
Harry Lewis.
Saturday night, MSU and ORU were deadlocked for the first 88 minutes of play, Ingram came right down the middle of the field to score off an assist from Lewis. The massive game winner came from five yards out to clinch the 1-0 victory.
In the matches against UCA and ORU Ingram paced the team with two goals, four shots on goal and six total shots. On the season Ingram has accumulate eight shots on goal, three goals and 12 shots with a .66 shot on goal percentage.
The Bears return to action tonight against UMKC at 7 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo. MSU will return home on Sat. Sept., 23 as they open home MVC play against Evansville at 6 p.m. For all of the latest information on the Missouri State men's soccer team, visit
