SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's soccer team returns home to Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium for a pair of in-state matches against the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (Friday, Sept. 1) and Saint Louis Billikens (Sunday, Sept. 3).

Missouri State Quick Kicks
- The Bears 1-0 shutout over Central Arkansas marked head coach Rob Brewer's 250th career victory and the program's 188th win.
- Earning Valley Newcomer of the Week honors this week, freshman goalkeeper Kaitlin Maxwell had a career night at Central Arkansas as she surpassed her previous single-game saves record with seven stops against UCA. Her efforts led the Bears to their first win of the season, marking Maxwell's first collegiate victory and shutout.
- Prior to the start of the 2017 season, Missouri State was selected seventh in The Valley preseason poll.
- Three Bears – Mary Disidore, Rachel Catrell and Brooke Prondzinski – have netted goals this season. Disidore joined Catrell and Prondzinski during MSU's match at Central Arkansas where she picked up her second career goal.
- The Missouri State defense ranks second in the league with 22 saves. MSU goalkeeper Kaitlin Maxwell claims 21 while sophomore defender Lauren Fisher holds one defensive save.
- Newcomer Jordan Eickelman is the lone Bear to boast an assist. The freshman picked up her first collegiate assist at Mississippi State (8/20) - her second game in a Missouri State uniform.
The Opponents
Southeast Missouri State
- SEMO enters Friday's contest with a near-perfect, 3-1 overall record. The Redhawks opened their season with a 2-0 shutout over MVC member Evansville.
- Maggie Pike leads the squad with two goals and four points while five other Redhawks have netted goals this season.
- Senior Kindra Lierz leads the SEMO keepers with six saves and maintains a .857 save percentage. The Redhawk defense has allowed just one goal over four matches, which came at the hands of Milwaukee on Aug. 25.
- Head coach Heather Nelson is in the midst of her 19th season at the helm for the Redhawks.
Saint Louis
- Perfect through four matches this season, Saint Louis defeated Arkansas State (MSU's season-opening opponent) 3-2 on the road and edged out the Illinois State Redbirds 1-0 at home on Aug. 25.
- Freshman Olivia Petit leads the squad with three goals while the Billikens have outscored their opponents 10-2.
- Saint Louis goalkeeper Mary Niehaus leads the A-10 and the squad with two shutouts and has collected eight saves.
- The Billikens are led by Katie Shields, who is in her fifth season as head coach of the program.
Series History
Southeast Missouri State
The Bears hold a 6-2 all-time series lead over Southeast Missouri State and have won the last four contests against the Redhawks. In its eight-game history, Missouri State has held SEMO scoreless five times and has a near-perfect, 3-1 record at home. In the last meeting (9/18/16), Missouri State shutout the Redhawks, 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal from
Brooke Zimmerman.
Saint Louis
Meeting for the first time since the 2011 season, Saint Louis boasts an 8-2-5 overall series lead over the Bears. Breaking a three-game dual streak, Missouri State blanked the Billikens 1-0 in the last matchup between the two teams (9/25/11) as Bethany Smith launched the game-winning goal into the back of the net late in the 63
rd minute.
