Soccer Bears Add Two to Signing Class

SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State men's soccer head coach Jon Leamy announced Friday the receipt of National Letters of Intent from a pair of international standouts who will be joining the Bears this fall.

Connor Langan (D, Petersfield, UK) and Josh Dolling (F, Liverpool, UK) will both be part of MSU's freshman class for the fall of 2017. Missouri State received commitments from nine incoming players at the onset of the current signing period which began on Feb. 1 and continues through August 1 for the sport of soccer.

"I'm very happy with our class as a whole, and the addition of Connor and Josh certainly makes this a great day for our program," said MSU head coach Jon Leamy. "We're looking forward to having these guys on campus in August and watching them develop in our program."

Connor Langan (Fr. • D • Petersfield, United Kingdom • The Petersfield School)

Langan has played the last four years with the prestigious Southampton FC Academy. First he played for the U16 team and then went on to feature for the U18 squad. During that time he averaged around 20 starts or more per season. Primarily at right back.

"Connor is the second elite player to join the Bear family from Southampton FC," said MSU associate head coach Michael Seabolt. "He is an athletic, competitive, and technical player. We feel he can compete for a position anywhere along the back line and on the right side of midfield. Connor has good attacking qualities and is a committed defender that will immediately add to the quality of the team. "

Josh Dolling (Fr. • F • Liverpool, United Kingdom • Childwall Sports and Science Academy)

Dolling has featured for three teams before signing with Missouri State Men's Soccer. He began his career with Manchester United playing for the youth team. At 16 he moved to Burnley FC and joined their U18 academy. This last year he has played for Prescott Cables. During his time at Burnley Josh scored 24 goals and had 5 assists. This year for Prescott he has scored 6 and assisted 5 in 10 games.

"Dolling has been a goal scorer and creator at all his previous teams," Seablot explained. "We look for him to prove he can do the same for the Bears. He will feature up top as a striker or second forward. Josh brings strong physical characteristics, good technique, and creativity to the table. We look for him to come in an prove himself early on."
