Bears hold on for Eighth in Arkansas
In the final round of play at the Little Rock/ ASU Invitational, the Bears were led by junior
Verena Gimmy. Gimmy shot a 76 for her best round of the week to add to her 80-77 rounds for a total of 233. Pacing the team throughout the tournament,
Caroline Boone fell to ninth in round three with totals of 73-71-81--225 after splitting first place on day one. Ye Ji Lim of Central Arkansas held on to the lead for the first place finish with 72-72-77--221. Sophomore
Rachel Johnson tied for 24th with 73-80-79--232, while
Ashley Childers tied for 65
th with 89-83-82--254.
Stine Pettersen did not compete in round three due to injury. Freshman
Sophia Sadaro competed as an individual and fired off a 87-87-80--254 for her best round of the tournament.

As a team, the Bears finished tied for eighth of the 13-team field shooting 310-311-318--939 over two days. Central Arkansas (897) held on to the lead all three rounds over co-host Little Rock (912). UTEP and Toledo tied for third with 917 followed by Arkansas State (918), Northern Illinois (926), Wichita State (938). Oklahoma City U. tied with Missouri State for eighth with 939, and Arkansas State's "B" team rounded out the top 10.
