
MSU Travels to Columbia to Carry on Indoor Season

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State track and field team look to continue its opening success this season at the Missouri Holiday Opener, hosted by the Missouri, on Friday. Action will start at 2 p.m., the Bears will begin competition at 2 p.m. with the long jump. Â

Keeping Track of the Bears
- For the second time in a week, Missouri State will get set for indoor competition. The Bears will compete at the Missouri Holiday Opener in Columbia, Mo.
- Last Saturday at the Bob Timmons Challenge the Bears' combined for three personal bests and 14 top-five performances at the indoor season opener.
- Brittany McPike earned two top five placings at the Bob Timmons Challenge including first place in the weight throw, with a personal best 16.43-meter toss.
- Jamilah James in her first meet as a Bear, earned first place in the triple jump with a 12.31-meter leap.
- The Bears will focus on field events and short distance runs in the meet with the longest distance marking at 600m.
- Director of track and field and cross country, Ronald Boyce, enters his 22nd season at the helm. MSU enters this season picked fifth the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll.
