Men’s Soccer Bears Travel to Bradley for MVC Showdown

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State (3-0) men's soccer team will put their six game winning streak up against Bradley (2-0-1), Saturday at 7 p.m. in Missouri Valley Conference action.

Know the Bears
  • MSU currently holds the third longest winning streak in the nation, siting at six-straight. The Bears also have the sixth-best conference win streak in the country.
  • The streak includes five consecutive shutouts and all five have ended in 1-0 wins for MSU. The Bears sit tied for second in the NCAA in shutout percentage.
  • MSU ranks third in the west region of the United Soccer Coaches Association. The Bears also led the league at No. 41 in the NCAA RPI report.
  • The Bears 'bend, but don't break' defense has given up 117 shots through 10 games, but only given up four goals. MSU's goals against average is the lowest in the Missouri Valley and third lowest in the NCAA (.384).
  • Senior goalkeeper Liam Priestley has held up seven shutouts this season and fifth consecutive. Priestly has recorded 21 shutouts in his career, which ties him for third overall in Missouri State history. The Bears rank
  • Priestley also has garbed 40 saves this season. He ranks second in the nation in save percentage.
  • Freshman Josh Dolling recorded his first two goals of his career in back to back games. First coming off a penalty kick against Valpo. The second coming verses Oral Roberts Tuesday evening. The goal came off of a high cross to head in the score.
  • Junior Conor Ingram had his scoring streak ended against Valpo. The forward had scored in five straight games. He is the first Bear in the last 17 years to mark that feet.

  • For the second time in program history, Bradley has posted five consecutive home shutouts.
  • Bradley and MSU remain as the only undefeated teams in conference play.
  • The Braves allow an average of 0.82 goals per game.
 
Series History
Bradley
Missouri State holds a 21-9-4 all-time series lead over Bradley. The last meeting between the two teams took place on Sept. 23, 2016, in Springfield. Where the Bears came out on top 2-0. MSU last faced Bradley at Shea Stadium on Sept. 17, 2015 when the Braves took the match 4-0. The meeting on Saturday will mark the 35th contest between the two squads dating back to 1988.
