ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Josh Dolling continued his stellar freshman season last week, as he earned Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the week honors for the Missouri State men's soccer team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Liverpool, United Kingdom native netted two goals during last week's action. The first came at the 39 minute mark in the match against Valparaiso Tuesday afternoon. On a pass from the corner from
Stuart Wilkin from 10 yards out.
Saturday night, Dolling opened up scoring in the eighth minute against Loyola. With a quick move around a defender to score from 12 yards out. This marked the second time this season Dolling has scored in consecutive matches.
In the matches against Valpo and Loyola, Dolling paced the team with two goals, four shots on goal and seven total shots. On the season, Dolling has accumulated seven shots on goal, four goals and 17 shots with a .41 shot on goal percentage.
The Bears finish out regular season action Saturday against Drake at 6 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. MSU has clinched the No. 1 seed for the MVC Tournament in Peoria, Ill., Nov. 7-12.
