ST. LOUIS – For the second time this season, Missouri State track standout,
Marissa Kurtimah, has been given Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week laurels, the league office announced on Tuesday (Jan. 24).
The sprinter paced the Bears at the Missouri Invitational last Friday (Jan. 20). After crossing the line third in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.61 seconds, Kurtimah darted to a second-place finish in the event with a season-best time of 7.46 seconds.
This time moved the Guelph, Canada, native to first in the MVC in the 60-meter dash. Kurtimah also aided in MSU's second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay at the Missouri Invitational.
Kurtimah and the Bears will return to the University of Kansas for the second time in three outings for the Jayhawk Classic this Friday (Jan. 27).
