Jack Knoesel has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after earning medalist honors at the Derek Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 27). Knoesel fired a school-record 54-hole total of 206 with rounds of 66-68-72 over two days and led the Bears to the team title at the event held at Gateway National in Madison, Ill.
The sophomore from Columbia, Mo., earned the title in just his second event as a Bear after transferring from Tulsa over the summer. He led wire-to-wire in propelling MSU to a two-shot victory over host SIU Edwardsville with an 875 team total.
Next up for the Bears is the UMKC/Bill Ross Intercollegiate in Kansas City, Sunday and Monday (Oct. 3-4).
