The 2016 Bears feature a diverse roster with eight student-athletes set to play their final season and 10 newcomers. All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree and NSCAA All-West Region third team member from a season ago,
Jack Griffin, was named to the preseason all-conference team. The senior played in all 17 matches for the Bears last season and registered two goals, including the game-winning goal against SIUE with two seconds left in overtime.
Returners, and 2015 All-Freshman team members,
Jake Buckle and
Conor Ingram, are expected to play key roles on the MSU squad this season. Buckle led the Bears in shots taken (25) while finishing second on the team in points (7) and goals (3) last season. Two of his goals came in MSU's 2-1 victory over No. 18 Loyola Marymount at the N.M. Tournament. Ingram finished right behind Buckle in shots (19) and goals (2). During the preseason, Ingram scored three goals of the Bears' nine goals in three matches.
