  • In the Bears' 11 games last fall, the MSU defensive line combined to record 190 tackles, 32.5 stops for losses and 12.5 of the Bears' 17 sacks on the year.
  • With three starters back in Colby Isbell, Cecil Bratton and Tony Jones, as well as two more (Daryl Coburn and Skyler Hulse) who made starts last season, the Bears' defensive line represents one of its strongest and deepest position groups.
  • Isbell led the group and ranked fifth overall on the squad with 44 stops, including 8.0 for losses and a team-best 4.5 sacks.
  • Bratton, who has 17 career starts under his belt, logged 3.0 sacks as a sophomore.
  • Jones started the final eight contests of 2015 for the Bears, including six at left end for defensive line coach Chris Morton.
  • Coburn made three starts as a sophomore and recorded tackles for loss in five straight games.
  • Taiwo Oluwafunmila logged significant playing time in his first year with the Bears, while returning squad members Colin Bess, Riley Herrold, Brock Kliewer and Chris Cacciarelli will also push for playing time while providing depth up front for Morton and the MSU defense.
  • Several talented newcomers, including junior transfer E.J. Sutton and freshmen Anthony Armour, Tristan Crowder, Eric Johnson and Walter Watson will also look to make an impact in their initial campaign with the Bears.
