BEDFORD, England - Missouri State junior Holly Pattie-Belleli kept her Olympic dreams alive here Sunday (June 19) with a championship effort in the 110-meter hurdles at the England Athletics Under 23 and Under 20 Championships.
Representing the Essex Ladies running club, Pattie-Belleli entered the U23 meet seeded third, but squeaked out a narrow one one-hundredth of a second victory in the finals with an impressive run of 13.70 seconds.
The native of Ongar, Essex, England will now compete at the Great Britain and Northern Ireland National and Olympic Trials in Birmingham next weekend. She currently ranks as the No. 6 hurdler in her home nation going into the competition.
Pattie-Belleli was an All-MVC performer in 2016, finishing second at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship in the 100-meter hurdles and representing the Bears at both the NCAA Preliminary Round in Lawrence, Kan., and the NCAA Nationals in Eugene, Ore.
