  • The Bears will be competing alongside 11 others schools, including four Valley foes - Bradley, Illinois State, Loyola, and host Indiana State.
  • A total number of 19 student-athletes are expected to compete for the Bears in 13 individual events and both relays.
  • The Gibson Track and Field Complex is the same facility that will be used for the 2016 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships that are set to take place May 13-15.
  • The Gibson Invitational will be scored and per NCAA rules, invitational scoring will be used: 10 pts. for 1st place, 8 pts. for 2nd, 6 pts. for 3rd, 5 pts. for 4th, 4 pts. for 5th, 3 pts. for 6th, 2 pts. for 7th, 1 pt. for 8th. Only one relay per team may score.
  • Missouri State holds top times or distances in the Valley in three individual events and both relays. Marissa Kurtimah (100-meter dash), Shavonne Husbands (200-meter dash), and Robiann Broomfield (triple jump) lead in their respective events. The 4x100-meter relay team (Kurtimah, Husbands, Asha Cave, and Kadisha Francois) and the 4x400-meter relay team (Francois, Husbands, Oarabile Babolayi, and Shani Adams) clocked in season-best times of 45.36 seconds and 3:42.74, respectively, at the Arkansas Spring Invitational.
  • Sprinter Shavonne Husband has clocked in the 40th-best time in the nation in the 200-meter dash (23.59). In week four of outdoor competition, teammate Holly Pattie-Belleli currently sits at 37th in the nation after competing in the heptathlon at the first meet of the season nearly three weeks ago.
  • Kadisha Francois has clocked in personal-best times in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash in back-to-back meets that she has competed in those events, leading the team in each.
  • Thrower Melanie Raterman leads the team in all three throwing events that she competes in - discus throw, hammer throw and javelin. The junior broke her own school record in the hammer throw last weekend with a mark of 52.47 meters. She has now broken the school record in the event each year she has competed.
