The Missouri State men's golf team moved up two spots in Tuesday's (Apr. 12) final round and finished fifth of 11 teams at the ORU Shootout at Forest Ridge Golf Club here.
The Bears fired a 294 on the last day and finished with a 911 total after posting 312-305 on Monday. Arkansas State held on for the team championship, shooting 876 for 54 holes, compared to second-place Central Arkansas' 883. Utah Valley (895), North Dakota State (909) and MSU rounded out the top five.
Senior Brik Brauburger led the way for MSU on Tuesday, carding a two-under-par 70. Freshman Adam Fisher had 74 in the final round and was the top Bears' performer for the tournament, tying for 16th with 76-74-74--224. Brauburger, senior Mitch Mather and freshman Kory Franks all tied for 36th with 230 totals. Brauburger carded 82-78-70, while Mather had 78-78-74 and Franks 79-75-76. Senior Joey Johnson shot 79-79-81--239 and tied for 66th.
The Bears are now idle till the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Apr. 25-26 in Hutchinson, Kan.
