DALLAS, Texas - Bob Sitton Results
The Missouri State men's golf team improved by 12 strokes and three spots in the standings Wednesday (Mar. 16) in the second round of the Bob Sitton Invitational in Dallas, Texas. The Bears are tied for 11th in the 17-team field entering Thursday's final round with rounds of 308-296 the first two days for a 604 total.
The field is tightly bunched with lots of room for movement yet in the final 18 holes at the par 71, 6815-yard TPC Four Seasons, the site for the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Classic. Long Beach State will carry a substantial lead into the final round after shooting 285-288--573. Stephen F. Austin is second with 586, followed by Central Arkansas (592), Wyoming (593) and Oral Roberts (598) rounding out the top five.
Freshmen Kory Franks and Adam Fisher led the way for the Bears on Wednesday, both posting 73's. After both opened with 80, they're tied for 46th overall with 153 totals, along with teammate Mitch Mather, who's recorded 78-75. Senior Joey Johnson is low for MSU through two rounds, tied for 20th after carding 74-75--149. Sophomore John Fuchs is tied for 66th with 76-80--156.
Thursday's final round is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
