SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Missouri State women's soccer team (4-2-1) will play three games over the span of five days for the second time in two weeks beginning on Friday at SIU Edwardsville (2-4-2). The stretch which includes a home match versus Western Illinois on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and at Nebraska Omaha on Tuesday will conclude the non-conference portion of the 2015 schedule for the Bears.

"The difficult schedule last week may have helped us to be prepared for MVC play," said head coach Rob Brewer. "We hope that we can keep up the consistency this week as we ready ourselves for conference play next week."

Senior Cassie Le picked up MVC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after she helped the Bears to a 2-0-1 week with both victories occurring on the road. She also scored her first career goal, the game-winner at Little Rock, on Sunday.

Fellow senior Alix Opfer contributed two goals last week to up her league-leading total to six for the season. She ranks among the top-20 nationally in total goals and goals per game.

Another senior Lauren Fussell calmly buried a penalty kick in Sunday's win at Little Rock. With her PK, MSU seniors account for eight of the 10 goals for the Bears this season.

Freshman Brooke Prondzinski has scored a goal and added a team-high four assists. She is tied for the league lead in assists and shots taken (26) while leading outright in shots per game (3.71).

Following Sunday's home match versus Western Illinois, the team will host a free youth (K-8) clinic at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium. The Bears will return home on Saturday, Sept. 26 to open MVC play against UNI at 5:00 p.m., a match which will feature a celebration of the 20th season in program history and free admission to all fans.
