LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Missouri State women's soccer team (4-2-1) defeated Little Rock (4-4-0) at Coleman Sports Complex, 2-1, snapping a three-match home winning streak by the Trojans. All four MSU wins this season have been by a 2-1 final and the Bears earned consecutive road wins for the first time since the 2012 season.

"We played three matches in five day and won the last two on the road," commented head coach Rob Brewer after the win. "That is a testament to this team's resilience. We are learning about our team and making adjustments."

Little Rock inched in front in the 13th minute of play. Senior goalkeeper Jessica Perry saved each of the first two shots in a mini-barrage, but the third shot found the back of the net for a 1-0 Trojans lead.

In the 43rd minute, MSU's Brooke Zimmerman made a run in the box and was taken down by a LR defender resulting in a penalty kick for the Bears. Senior Lauren Fussell stepped up to the spot and calmly buried the PK to knot the match at 1-1.

The Bears offensive pressure paid off in the 64th minute. Freshman Brooke Prondzinski controlled the ball near the top of the box. She sent a pass to senior Cassie Le, who was making a run up the right side. Le shot the ball past the keeper for her first career goal and a 2-1 lead for MSU.

Perry made nine saves in the win. Her best was a diving punch early in the second half to keep Little Rock from getting a second goal.

Eight different MSU players had a single shot each. Missouri State was out-shot in the match. 17-8.

Missouri State's heads to SIU Edwardsville next Friday (Sept. 18) before returning to Allison South on Sunday, September 20 with a 1:00 p.m. match versus Western Illinois.
