SPRINGFIELD - The Missouri State men's soccer team (0-1-2) will play Saint Mary's College (2-2) on Friday (Sept. 11) at 7 p.m. This will be the first meeting between SMC and MSU men's soccer.

Sophomore goalkeeper Liam Priestley is on a two-game shutout streak for the Bears entering Friday's game. With help from MSU's defense, Priestley has not been forced to save more than two goals in any game. Likewise, opponents have not had more than 10 shot opportunities against the Bears this season due to MSU's tough defensive strategy.

The Bears are currently ranked 23rd nationally in shutout percentage (0.67) and 33rd in goals against average (0.58).

"The guys are excited to be at home playing in front of their fans again," said head coach Jon Leamy. "This will be our last chance to play at home for a couple of weeks. Each practice and game we are getting better and we are ready to see the results on the field."

Friday night's game will be featured on Bears All-Access with live stats on GameTracker, both exclusively on MissouriStateBears.com. The night has been dubbed an "America Night." Fans are encouraged to wear their red, white, and blue as we remember and honor those who were affected by Sept. 11, 2001. Admission is free for all fans in honor of Family Weekend.

On Sunday (Sept. 13), Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium will serve as a neutral site as Saint Mary's will take on Oral Roberts University at 1 p.m. Admission is free to fans for this event.

The Bears will travel to their first tournament of the season in Albuquerque, NM, on Friday, Sept. 18, where they will face the University of New Mexico at 8 p.m. CT. On Sept. 20, they will conclude the New Mexico Tournament at 1 p.m. when they face Loyola Marymount University.

Conference play will begin for the Bears at home on Saturday, Sept. 26 when they face MVC preseason favorite SIU Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m.
