Missouri State senior Megan Furnish has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after a standout performance Sunday thru Tuesday at the Little Rock Classic in Hot Springs Village, Ark.

The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native helped lead the Bears to the tournament title, firing a career-low 217 for 54 holes, one over par, and tying for fourth individually. She opened with a 75 on Sunday, and then birdied her final hole each of the next two days to record identical 71's, one under par on the 6,076-yard layout at Diamante Country Club. Three of her last four tournament rounds have been under par, dating back to the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Oct. 13, when she posted a one-under 70 at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield.

Furnish currently ranks ninth in the league with a 75.73 scoring average. This is the first golfer of the week award in her career.
