TULSA, Okla. - The Missouri State men's soccer team (5-5-5) played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw in Monday night's battle here against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (6-6-3) in the Bears' final non-conference match of the season.

In the 25th minute, Jake Laird put the Bears on the board giving MSU the 1-0 advantage going into halftime. Four Bears took shots in the first half, out-shooting the Golden Eagles 4-3.

ORU came out of the locker room in the second half determined to put themselves on the board. In the 49th minute, ORU's Juan Padilla connected with teammate Alex Harris on a pass across the box to tie the score, 1-1.

In the 56th minute of the match, ORU was called for a foul giving the Bears a free kick from 40 yards out. Phil Woods took the kick and freshman Conor Ingram jumped above the ORU defenders to head in his first goal of the season.

ORU retaliated in the 62nd minute to tie the match again, ultimately leading to a double-overtime draw and final 2-2 score.

This was the second meeting of the season between the Bears and Golden Eagles. The first meeting in Springfield on Sept. 1 saw a similar outcome, as MSU and ORU played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw.

Monday night's match was the fifth draw of the season for the Bears, the club's most since 2008.

MSU goalkeeper Liam Priestley recorded a match-high six saves, a season high for the club's keeper who now has 31 saves on the season.

"Liam made good saves for us tonight," said head coach Jon Leamy. "Tonight's match was a hard-fought game. We scored good goals mixed with a lot of back and forth action from our guys. This match was a good one to gear us up for our final home game this Saturday."

MSU will return to Springfield on Saturday at 7 p.m. for its final contest of the regular season against Missouri Valley Conference opponent Central Arkansas. The three seniors on the squad - Brandon Barbero, Jon Boyack, and Thomas - will be recognized prior to the match.

Admission for the match is free for MSU students with a valid I.D. and children ages 12 and under. Admission for MSU faculty and staff is $2 and tickets for all other adults are $5.
