SPRINGFIELD
-- The Missouri State women's basketball team will make its 2014-15 debut Tuesday (Nov. 4) at 7:05 p.m. against Central Methodist in the first of two exhibition contests scheduled this season at JQH Arena. The Lady Bears also host Southwest Baptist on Nov. 9 at 2:05 p.m. in their final tune-up before regular-season play begins Nov. 14 at Memphis. The SBU game will air on KTXR 101.3 FM in Springfield.

Central Methodist is picked to finish third this season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference after back-to-back 20-win seasons that included time in the NAIA top 25 poll. The Eagles went 22-9 last season and return seven players from that team, including All-American Morgan Vetter, who averaged 15.2 points per game and led the NAIA with 127 3-pointers. CMU has played two exhibition games thus far, losing 82-37 at Eastern Washington and 71-56 at Washington State.

Southwest Baptist went 13-16 overall last season and is picked to finish 12th in the 14-team MIAA in 2014-15. Led by first-year head coach Kelsey Keizer, the Bearcats return second-leading scorer and Willard High graduate Brooke Duncan, who averaged 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last year, as well as transfer Ashley Bartow, who started 28 games for Missouri Valley Conference-rival Drake in 2013-14.

Tickets are available on-line at MissouriStateTix.com, or during regular box office hours by phone at (417) 836-7678 or at the Chevy Pickup Window at JQH Arena. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets to Sunday's game in non-assessed areas are $4 for adults and $2 for children as part of Missouri State's Tribute to America's Heroes promotion in celebration of Veteran's Day.
