The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball returns home to kick off a four-game home stand at Great Southern Bank Arena, beginning with a Sunday afternoon (2:00 p.m.) matchup against Kansas. The Lady Bears spent seven of their first nine games on the road.
  • Sunday will mark the 16th meeting all time between the Lady Bears and Jayhawks - KU owns a 9-6 series advantage. It will also mark the first time the squads have met since Nov. 13, 2016. The series is tied 4-4 in Springfield.
  • Home Court Advantage - Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, MSU has compiled a 99-14 record inside Great Southern Bank Arena, while boasting a 78-8 record since the start of the 2019-20 season. Under Beth Cunningham, the Lady Bears are 42-6 at home.
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears this season, averaging 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. She is tied for the team lead with 12 triples and is shooting 80% from the free throw line (44-55). The guard ranks 1st in CUSA in free throws made and points (148), which rank 16th and 65th in the nation, respectively.
  • Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.) has averaged 17.0 points over the last three games, going 20-for-29 (.690) from the field in that span. She ranks 1st in CUSA and 29th nationally in field goal percentage this season (.590). Defensively, she leads CUSA and ranks 53rd in the nation with 14 blocks.
  • As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw attempts per game (14th - 24.9) and free throws made per game (11th - 17.7).
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 50-6 when scoring 70+ points, 54-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 42-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.
  • The first NET rankings of the season were posted earlier this week. MoState is currently 115 in the NET rankings, which ranks second amongst CUSA teams (Sam Houston - 104).
  • The 2025-26 Lady Bear squad features seven returners and seven newcomers in a new-look lineup that replaces all five of its starters from a year ago. MoState lost 69.2 percent of its scoring and 60.9 percent of its rebounding from last season.
  • The Lady Bears were picked to finish fourth in their first season as a member of Conference USA in the league's preseason poll. MoState slotted in behind Louisiana Tech, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. Little Rock transfer Lee was selected to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Lee was an All-OVC first-team member a season ago after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Trojans, and she averaged 19.7 points in three career games against Missouri State.
