Former Missouri State standout Catherine Dolan claimed her second Missouri Women's Amateur golf title in three years Thursday (July 11).
Dolan took a two-shot lead into the final round at The Club at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton and held on to edge amateur legend Ellen Port of St. Louis by a stroke.
Dolan, a Ballwin, Mo. native, carded 73-71-76--220 for the tournament and returned to the winner's circle after winning in 2011 and losing in a playoff to Port a year ago. McCall Christopher of Lee's Summit finished third at 226 and Katrina Choate of Fenton was fourth with 227.
Dolan was a four-time all-conference standout for the Bears from 2008-12 and ranks second on MSU's career scoring list. Last month, she advanced to the final 32 at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links in Norman, Okla.
