Bears Field Squad Posts Career-Best Distances in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. -- Four Missouri State student-athletes set or matched personal bests in field events on Friday at the Varsity Apartments Invitational in Wichita, Kan.

Sophomore Haley Scott led the charge with a distance of 4.87 meters in the long jump, which bested her previous high-water mark of 4.78 meters, set on Jan. 18, 2013. Freshmen Me'Kayla McGee (4.83 meters) and Cassandra Schwab (4.14 meters) participated in the long jump for the first time and set the bar for future success.

Junior Jessica Dantin matched her previous best distance in the weight throw with a mark of 13.91 meters. The native of Wildwood, Mo. previously posted a 13.91 meters throw in Missouri State's season-opening meet on Dec. 2, 2012.

The Bears will resume competition in Wichita on Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
