Missouri State senior Will Hogan captured medalist honors Tuesday (Mar. 27) at the UALR/First Tee Intercollegiate in Little Rock, Ark. Hogan was tied for the lead heading into the last round and shot a final-round 74 to go with 74-68 on Monday for an even par total of 216 at Chenal Country Club, one stroke better than Mitchell McLeroy of Stephen F. Austin.
As a team, the Bears carded 308-300-312--920 to tie for ninth in the 16-team field. Southeastern Louisiana easily won the team title with 887, 13 better than Sam Houston State and its 900. Oral Roberts finished third with 904, followed by UALR (909), ULM and Stephen F. Austin (910), UMKC (916), Eastern Michigan (917) and then the Bears and Austin Peay at 920.
Columbia (923) finished 11th, followed by Illinois State (924), Western Kentucky (925), Bowling Green (928), Arkansas State (941) and Belmont (942).
Junior Daily Young placed second for MSU and 22nd overall, carding 71-78-77--226. Senior Jordan McLaurin shot 81-78-80--237, while sophomore Eric Straub had 83-78-81--242 to tie for 78th. Sophomore Nick Langley tied for 83rd with 82-81-85--248.
The Bears are back in action Apr. 2-3 at the Arkansas State Classic in Jonesboro, Ark.
