Track Bears Conclude Arkansas Last Chance Meet

The Missouri State track squad completed the Arkansas Last Chance Meet late Friday evening (March 2). Three sprinters traveled to Fayetteville to compete for the Bears.

"The girls finished the season well," said director of track and field and cross country Ron Boyce, "It has been a very successful indoor campaign."

All three MSU sprinters had personal best times on a banked track. After falling in the 400-meter dash, Althia Maximilien regrouped and finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.41, while Shantel Llewellyn came in sixth in the event finishing close behind Maximilien by only thousandths of a second (24.41). Merica Moncherry came in eighth with a time of 24.60.

The Bears will begin outdoor season March 24 at the Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
