Bears' Junior Will Hogan Earns NCAA Regional Golf Bid

Missouri State's Will Hogan has received an at-large bid to the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship's Arizona Regional, to be held May 19-21 in Tucson.

The junior from Ozark, Mo., who was this season's Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, is one of five individuals and 14 teams selected for the regional, which will be held at the Omni Tucson National Resort, May 19-21.

Hogan was the top-ranked player in the Valley by Golfstat this season, won the SIUE Invitational in the fall and, last August, qualified for the U.S. Amateur in suburban Seattle.  He is the first Bear to earn a post-season spot since David Jenkins in 2002.

He is part of the regional field that includes 81 teams and 45 individuals not on those teams who will play 54 holes at six sites. The low five teams and one individual not on those teams will advance to the finals at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., May 31-June 5.
