Men's Golf Leaves Kansas with Seventh Place Finish

Missouri State Men's Golf completed the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate on September 22.  As a team, the Bears shot 615 in two rounds, earning them a seventh-place finish.  Atop the Bears' leaderboard was sophomore Jordan McLaurin, who shot a 75 in both rounds, leaving him with a 150 for the tournament and a 17th-place finish.

The rest of the Bears were close behind McLaurin.  Senior Jay McBride shot a 79-73--152, sophomore Will Hogan had a 82-74--156, senior Ryan Weinhaus ended with a 79-78--157 and junior Matt Cermak rounded out the top five with his 82-83--165.

The tournament was scheduled to be a three-round, 54-hole event, but after heavy rainfall, tournament officials decided to cancel the first round. The final product was a two-round, 36-hole tournament.

In the tournament, Missouri State finished two strokes ahead of Oral Roberts, who is the host of the Bears' next tournament.  They will travel to Tulsa, Okla., on Monday, September 28, to partake in the Oral Roberts University Shootout.  Tee time for the event will be 8:30 a.m.
