The Missouri State track and field team will head to Lawrence, Kan., for this week’s Kansas Relays. The Bears will be on short rest as the meet begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday.
After setting a school record and attaining four NCAA Regional qualifying standards, the Bears will turn some attention to relays this week. Missouri State is expected to compete in some relay events for the first time this season.
Leander Ernest led the Bears at last year’s Kansas Relay. Ernest reached the NCAA Regional qualifying standard in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06.45 in winning the event last year.
The Kansas Relays are a combination high school-college meet. The Bears will begin the university competition on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Stadium on the University of Kansas campus.
