Bears Track and Field Heads to Indiana Relays

The Missouri State track and field team will travel to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the Indiana Relays.  The two-day meet begins Friday at 3:00 p.m. inside Gladstein Fieldhouse.

After breaking school records last week, Leander Ernest and Asher Kyger will take on the record books in other events this week.  Ernest, this week’s MVC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, will compete in the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay.  Kyger will take on the field in the 800-meter invitational and the 4x400-meter relay.

In the distance events, senior Jamie Vest will look to improve upon her indoor mile time.  Newcomer Pasca Cheruiyot will compete in the 3,000-meter invitational, her first attempt in the event for Missouri State.

In the field events, Shawnt Middlebrook looks to continue her phenomenal season as she is set to participate in the triple jump and long jump.  Meanwhile, Mareneika Goffe, who tied a personal best last week, will take another shot in the high jump.  Also, Sofie Blount and Jelni Kelly will take part in the shot put, where both have improved personal bests this season.
