Missouri State women’s soccer goalkeeper Jackie Jasper has been named this week’s Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Jasper was defensively solid for Missouri State over the weekend earning two shutout victories for the Bears. Jasper posted five saves in the match against the Western Michigan Broncos and one save against the Nicholls State Colonels. With her two shutout wins, Jasper grasped the number one spot in the Missouri State record books in all-time career wins (35) and all-time shutouts (25). After this weekends play, Jasper leads the conference with a .67 goals against average and a .864 save percentage. She also tops out the list for most shutouts (6.0) and shutouts per game (.67).
Jasper and the Bears will travel to Tulsa, Okla. to challenge Oral Roberts University on Friday, Sept. 26 before returning home on Sunday, Sept. 28 to host Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Friday’s kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
