SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State women's soccer extended its unbeaten conference streak to 24 matches on Sunday afternoon, earning a 1-1 draw against Delaware (8-1-4, 1-1-2 Conference USA) at Allison South Stadium. The Bears (5-5-3, 2-0-2 CUSA) rallied back on
Brooke Cattoor's header in the 83
rd minute to earn an important point in league play after falling behind in the first half.
Delaware struck first in the 20th minute as Adiat Olaogun-Dickson slipped in behind the defense and finished calmly off a feed from Maggie Groh to put the Blue Hens up, 1-0. The Bears created a handful of opportunities in the opening frame but were unable to convert, heading into the locker room down a goal.
Missouri State came out more aggressive after halftime, pressing high and generating consistent chances. The breakthrough came in the 83rd minute when Cattoor delivered the equalizer, rising to head home a cross from
Julia Kristensen that ricocheted off the right post and in.
The Bears outshot Delaware, 11-6, including a 7-0 advantage in the second half, while also winning the corner kick battle, 7-3. Goalkeeper
Ella Becker recorded two saves in the match, with the Missouri State back line shutting down the Blue Hens after the early strike.
"Definitely a battle between two quality teams that are both new to CUSA," head coach

Missouri State continues its four-match homestand on Saturday, Oct. 12, hosting Western Kentucky at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The Bears will then welcome Louisiana Tech (Oct. 16, 6 p.m.) and Sam Houston (Oct. 19, 1 p.m.) to Allison South Stadium. Admission is free for all fans for all home games.
