The Missouri State men's golf team placed second after Tuesday's final round of the Branson Creek Invitational at the Branson Creek Golf Club, a 7,036-yard, par-71 golf course. The team shot 307 over the final 18 holes to go with the 285-294 the team posted on the first day for a 886 team total.
Illinois State won the invitational with a team score of 876. Western Illinois placed third with 889, followed by Northern Iowa with 896, Creighton with 901, Eastern Illinois with 904, Texas Pan American with 908, South Dakota State with 912, Bradley with 920, and Southern Illinois with 925.
Matt Miller of Illinois State won medalist honors with a final round score of 68 and a total of 212 for the competition. Missouri State's Matt Sullivan tied with Eastern Illinois' Anthony Imburgia for the individual second-place finish. Sullivan posted 72 on the final round and had a total of 214.
The Bears will be back on the course in Jonesboro, Ark., for the ASU Indian Classic on Monday and Tuesday, April 9-10. Competition is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
