Men's Golf Leads Branson Creek Invitational After Day One

The Missouri State men's golf team is in first place after Monday's first and second rounds of the Branson Creek Invitational at the Branson Creek Golf Club, a 7,036-yard, par-71 golf course. The Bears shot 285-294 on rounds one and two for a 579 total. Illinois State and Western Illinois are in a close second and third place behind MSU with scores of 583 and 584, respectively.

Missouri State's Matt Sullivan is leading the Bears after shooting a 68-74--142 on the first two rounds. He is tied for second place with four other athletes, and trails the leader, Tommy Bliefnick of Illinois State, by just one stroke. MSU's Damaso Carrera is in seventh place after posting a 71-72--143 on the day.

The Invitational will conclude Tuesday, April 3, with the final round at 8:30 a.m.
