The Missouri State track and field coaching staff will conduct a clinic for coaches, athletes, parents and fans on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Forsythe Athletics Center on the Missouri State campus. The program will focus primarily on the high school level, but the key principles can be incorporated at all levels of the sport and anyone with an interest in competitive track and field is invited to attend.
Missouri State track and field head coach Ronald Boyce will present training and preparation practices for coaching sprints, while MSU assistant track and field and cross country coach Greg Hipp will focus on training measures for distance runners. Bears’ assistant track and field coach Jake Kingery will focus on coaching throws and jumps, while MSU prevention, rehabilitation and physical performance coordinator Mitch Hauschildt will conduct a session on core training.
Additional speakers will include two-time U.S. Olympian Jason Pyrah, former Missouri State cross country and track and field head coach Richard Clark, University of Arkansas associate track and field head coach Lonnie Green, and Iowa State assistant track and field coach Blake Boldon.
The cost of the clinic is $50 for those registering by Jan. 1, and $65 thereafter. The fee includes clinic tuition and materials, a t-shirt and lunch and all profits will be used toward the support of the Missouri State track and field program.
