The Missouri State men’s golf team concluded its fall season Tuesday with a 13th-place finish at the UTA Waterchase Invitational at the par-72, 7,304 Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Sophomore Jay McBride led the Bears after completing the fall portion of the schedule with his fourth top-30 finish in four tournaments. McBride entered the final round of competition in a tie for 11th at one-under after firing a 70 and a 73 on Monday, but slipped to 28th with an 80 Tuesday morning.
Fellow sophomore Scott Glenn shot a 76-72-78--226 to tie for 48th at 10-over par, while Ryan Weinhaus finished in 68th after rounds of 77-76-79--232. Last week’s MVC Golfer of the Week Damaso Carrera and freshman Jack Courington tied for 78th with 238 totals, 22-over par.
Host Texas-Arlington won the 15-team event with a team score of 13-under, 851 (282-275-294). Arkansas State’s Lloyd du Preez was the individual medalist after shooting a six-under 69-71-70--210.
