Bears Compete in the Razorback Invitational

The Missouri State track and field team concluded the first day of the Razorback Invitational Friday in Fayetteville, Ark. Freshman Leander Ernest turned in a stellar performance for the Bears, placing 13th overall in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.95. Her time ranks at the top of this season's Missouri Valley Conference best list coming into the weekend.

Angelique Stephens won her heat in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.24 and placed 19th overall for the Bears in the event. Cortenee Boulard, Renee Berry and Anda Udris also competed in the 200 and landed 41st, 51st and 54th in times of 26.47, 27.43 and 28.60, respectively.

In high jump competition, Zaleika Goffe once again led Missouri State with a ninth-place finish after clearing 5-04.25. Kim Carter finished tenth, clearing the same height and Maraneika Goffe placed 12th with a jump of 5-02.25. MSU freshman April Brooks also cleared 5-02.25 but landed 17th overall due to faults.

The Razorback Invitational concludes tomorrow, Jan. 20, in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. with the last event scheduled for 4:50 p.m.
